Automobile word is derived from greek word autos meaning self 

and the latin word mobilis meaning movable. It entered the English

language from French, and was adopted first time by the Automobile club of Great

 Britain in 1897.

 Definition of automobile   

An automobile is a self propelled wheeled vechicle consists of its own power unit (engine/motor).

Cars, Buses, Trucks, Bikes are the examples of automobile vechicles.

        

 History of automobile

Karl Benz  from Germany built first automobile with petrol engine in 1885 and was 

granted patent on 26 january 1886.
